Key words
Condensed matter – Materials – Polymers – Supramolecular chemistry – Polymers physics and chemistry – Functional material and biomaterial
Overview
The Institute was founded in 1954 to research on polymers, which was a growing industry at the time. Today, the Institute is engaged in interdisciplinary research at the crossroads of chemistry and materials physics.
Research focus
The institute is composed of 7 research teams:
- Theory and simulation of polymers
- Membranes and microforces
- Physics-mechanics and tribology of polymers
- Organised molecular and macromolecular complex systems
- Polyelectrolytes, complexes and materials
- Supramolecular chemistry and self-assemblies
- Precision macromolecular chemistry
