Overview
The Institute has been investigating the question of sciences and technologies within society for more than 25 years. This reflection is built upon historical, philosophical, sociological and anthropological analysis but also on practical experience and field work on various subjects. IRIST's specificity lies in the diversity of approaches on subjects and in its interdisciplinary work, which can include social studies as well as cognitive and epistemological analysis of sciences and technologies.
Research focus
IRIST current research focus is: Sciences, Technologies and Society: Creative Work (process, conditions, and constraints). It is organised through two approaches:
- Creative work as a process
- The conditions and constraints of creative work
